As against creation of 279 different categories of post under OSSC Ltd., 61 post including 11 single posts were vacant as on 1.7.99. In pursuance of Government in Finance Department, Odisha OM No.31271/F dt.16.7.99 and O.M. No.34383 dt.7.8.99, the Board of Directors of OSSC in their 85th meeting held on 10.01.2001 were moved for abolition of 30 posts towards base level vacancies, but the Board abolished 2 more posts resulting abolition of 32 posts during 2001.

Further, the Govt. in F.D. OM. No.32861/F dt.3.8.2004 issued instruction for abolition of 75% of the vacancies. Accordingly, out of 40 base level vacant posts as on 1.4.2004, 26 posts have been abolished. As per the instruction received from Govt in Agriculture Department vide their letter No.36773/Ag dt.31.10.2005 the balance 3 posts have been abolished in the 106th Board of Directors meeting held on dt. 17.05.2006. Hence, consequent upon abolition of 61 posts, the present vacancies comes to 30 which are meant for reserved categories for S.C. & S.T. communities.

Thereafter during the period September-08 19 employees of the Corporation were retired under voluntary retirement scheme introduced by the Corporation and as per rule 19 posts have also been abolished. Hence, the existing sanctioned strength of OSSC Ltd after abolition of the total post of 80 is 199 against which 173 nos of employees are now in position and out of the 173 employees 27 nos of employees are working on deputation from the State Govt.

Thus, the total staff strength of this Corporation is now 173 which include both at Head Office and field.. The details of staff position is indicated below.
